Attack: Death Toll Rises to Seven in Russian Strike on Odesa Home

Kyiv, Ukraine – The death toll in the recent Russian attack on the city of Odesa has tragically risen to seven, Governor Oleg Kiper revealed on Saturday. The attack, which caused significant damage to a residential building, resulted in the loss of lives and left several individuals still unaccounted for.

Among the victims was a woman whose body was discovered in the rubble, along with a baby found beside her. This marks the second minor to have lost their life in the attack, which also claimed the life of a two-year-old and left eight others injured, including a child whose age was unspecified by local authorities.

During the night from Friday to Saturday, the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported a series of 17 attacks involving Iranian-made kamikaze drones. They reported successfully shooting down 14 of these drones using anti-aircraft defenses across various cities, including Odesa, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Sumi, and Dnipro.

In response to the attacks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the violence and urged for more support in the form of anti-aircraft defenses from Western allies. He emphasized the need to strengthen the Ukrainian air shield to better protect the population from future acts of aggression.

Zelensky shared on Facebook a video showcasing the aftermath of the devastating attack on Odesa, highlighting the destruction of 18 apartment blocks as a result of the assault. This grim reality underscores the urgent need for increased defense mechanisms to prevent further loss of life.

The events in Odesa serve as a tragic reminder of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the impact it has on innocent civilians caught in the crossfire. As the region continues to face violence and instability, the international community must rally together to support efforts towards peace and security in the country.
