“Beheading” Shock: Gruesome Details Unfold in Levittown Murder Case

LEVITTOWN, Pa. – A gruesome murder in Bucks County has shocked the community, with details of the disturbing events continuing to unfold. A 32-year-old man, Justin Mohn, stands accused of murdering his own father, leaving a 68-year-old man beheaded.

On Tuesday, January 30, the events leading up to and following the murder began to unfold. According to the arrest affidavit, Mohn’s wife left their home in Middletown Township at 2 p.m. It was three hours later that Mohn posted a horrifying 14-minute-long video showing the decapitated head of his father. The video, which also included a script calling for violence against federal employees and the media, was viewed more than 5,000 times before being taken down by YouTube. At 6:59 p.m, Mohn’s wife returned home to find her husband dead in the bathroom, along with a machete and large kitchen knife. His severed head was found in another room. The neighborhood of Levittown was stunned by the news, and a national search for Mohn began.

By 9 p.m., Mohn’s cell phone had been pinged, and his car was found by local police outside the gates at Fort Indiantown Gap National Guard base in Lebanon County. Just 25 minutes later, his phone was pinged again, this time from inside the base. Mohn was ultimately located and arrested without incident after climbing a perimeter fence. He had no prior history with the National Guard.

The next day, Wednesday, January 31, Mohn was brought back to Bucks County to face first-degree murder charges. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 8. It was revealed that Mohn had graduated from Penn State in 2014 with a degree in Agribusiness. He had also represented himself by filing a lawsuit against the federal government over student loan debt, a case that was dismissed multiple times.

The shocking details of the crime left neighbors and community members reeling, expressing disbelief and concern over the sudden violence. The stunning nature of the incident drew in curious onlookers to the neighborhood of tidy homes. Nevertheless, there was a sense of relief that Mohn had been captured.
