“Boy Fatally Shot by Stolen Gun” – Family Demands Justice for 10-Year-Old Victim

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. – The tragic shooting and killing of a 10-year-old boy in the Foothill Farms area of Sacramento County has left loved ones demanding justice. The young victim, identified as Keith Frierson, known as KJ, was allegedly shot by another 10-year-old boy who fired his father’s stolen gun. The family of KJ is devastated by the loss and is seeking accountability for his untimely death.

According to family members, KJ was a smart, kind, and respectful boy with a bright future ahead of him. His aunt, Erika, expressed deep sadness over the loss, stating that KJ did not deserve such a tragic fate. The shooting occurred as KJ had just stepped outside of his apartment to ride his bike, a routine activity that was abruptly cut short by the act of violence.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the 10-year-old victim was shot by another 10-year-old boy who had accessed a gun from his father’s vehicle. After retrieving the weapon, the young suspect proceeded to brag about having a gun, and tragically, used it to fatally shoot KJ. The victim was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators found that the gun used in the shooting had been reported stolen in 2017, and the alleged shooter’s father, 53-year-old Arkete Davis, attempted to dispose of the weapon. Both Davis and his 10-year-old son were arrested in connection to the killing, with Davis facing multiple gun-related charges, child endangerment, and being an accessory after the fact.

The 10-year-old suspected shooter is currently detained at the Sacramento County Youth Detention Facility and is facing murder charges. Meanwhile, Davis is being held on a $500,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on January 3rd.

In the wake of this tragedy, KJ’s family has set up an online fundraiser to cover funeral expenses and is seeking justice for the young boy whose life was cut short in such a senseless act of violence.
