Bronx Shooting Leaves Venezuelan Nationals Dead and Critically Injured

New York Police announced on Tuesday that the victims of a deadly shooting in the Bronx were identified as Venezuelan nationals. The incident took place in Mott Haven outside a McDonald’s, where 24-year-old Adrian Mendoza and 31-year-old Jhombeyker Bisbal were sitting in a Nissan Rogue early on Monday morning.

Reports revealed that a gray Honda Civic approached the victims’ vehicle around 4 a.m. The passenger of the Civic initially walked past the victims’ car but then returned. The attacker proceeded to shoot Mendoza in the head and body while also firing multiple shots through the windshield, hitting Bisbal several times.

Following the attack, the shooter fled on foot, leaving the victims critically wounded in their car. Both Mendoza and Bisbal were rushed to Lincoln Hospital, where Mendoza succumbed to his injuries, and Bisbal was left in critical condition.

Law enforcement authorities disclosed that neither victim had a prior arrest record in New York, but Mendoza was arrested by Customs and Border Control in Texas back in August, while Bisbal faced a similar situation in May.

Efforts are underway by the NYPD to locate the Honda Civic used in the shooting, which was reported to have Virginia license plates. As of now, there have been no arrests made in connection to the crime. The community and authorities alike are on high alert following this tragic incident, emphasizing the need for swift action in bringing the perpetrator to justice and preventing further violence in the neighborhood.
