Capital Murder Suspect on the Run After Fatal Shooting in Katy Area Home

KATY, TX – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has identified the three individuals who lost their lives in a tragic shooting incident that took place in the early hours of Sunday morning in the Katy area. The victims, Michael Odobo, Nicholas King, and Ellesha Rice, all 24 years old, were fatally shot at a residence on Russet Leaf Trace near Clay and North Fry roads in unincorporated Katy.

According to reports, Ellesha Rice and Nicholas King had plans for their future together. Rice had recently graduated from college, with aspirations to attend law school and eventually become a judge. Tragically, both of their lives were cut short in this senseless act of violence.

The sister of Nicholas King expressed her grief, stating that her brother and sister-in-law-to-be had been taken from this world too soon. It was revealed that King died alongside Rice in the kitchen of the residence where the shooting occurred.

Michael Odobo, who was in Katy to celebrate his birthday, was also fatally shot and succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a local hospital. In total, three adult males were taken to different hospitals following the shooting.
