Areas of Kerr County experienced up to 10 inches of rain overnight, significantly raising water levels in the Guadalupe. Authorities confirmed the occurrence of fatalities but have not released specific details regarding the victims. The National Weather Service had previously issued a flood watch that evolved into a warning for approximately 30,000 residents, highlighting the rapidly changing conditions.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that resources are being deployed to assist communities such as Kerrville, Ingram, and Hunt, which have been severely impacted. Abbott urged residents to heed warnings from local officials and avoid driving through flooded streets.
