Chilling Final Moments Captured Before Double Tragedy Strikes Miami Community

Miami, FL – A tragic event unfolded in northwest Miami-Dade, resulting in the deaths of a young mother and another man, both victims of a deadly shooting that has rocked the local community. Recently revealed surveillance footage captures the critical hours leading up to the moment 27-year-old Jeankerly Linares lost her life, offering a disturbing glimpse into her final interactions.

Jeankerly Linares, a Venezuelan immigrant and mother of two, was employed at La Nueva Alameda restaurant on Northwest 27th Avenue, a place she frequented not only for work but unfortunately where she encountered her alleged assailant. Essential details emerged from the surveillance video, highlighting how a man began fixating on Linares, leading to several instances of distressing behavior.

According to Linares’ relatives, the man, identified by restaurant employees as 70-year-old Luis Montero Moncada, known colloquially as “El Colombiano,” exhibited unsettling attention toward her. Witnesses reported seeing him spending extensive periods inside the restaurant, often observing Linares for hours on end. This alarming conduct escalated to the point where Linares felt verbally threatened, not just in the presence of friends but also around family members.

The situation escalated late Sunday when another surveillance camera captured the harrowing moment Linares and a man identified as Marlon Lopez were fatally shot at close range near a food truck on the intersection of Northwest 27th Avenue and 30th Street. In the immediate aftermath, chaos ensued, with the shooter fleeing the scene.

By Monday, law enforcement had tracked Montero Moncada to an Extended Stay hotel, where a confrontation between him and Miami-Dade deputies led to a shootout. Detective Angel Rodriguez of the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office conveyed that the engagement began as deputies, illuminated by the red and blue lights of their vehicles and marked by police insignia, approached Montero Moncada, who responded with gunfire.

The standoff concluded with Montero Moncada fatally shot by deputies. Upon searching his vehicle, authorities discovered a firearm which they believe was used in the killings of Linares and Lopez. The identities of the two deceased and Montero Moncada’s subsequent death have sparked considerable distress within the community, with friends and family mourning the untimely loss of their loved ones.

Further investigations are now being carried out by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to dissect the events surrounding the encounter between the deputies and Montero Moncada.

This incident has cast a somber light on concerns surrounding the escalation of violence and the disturbing undertones of obsessive behavior leading to irreparable harm. As the community grapples with this tragedy, there are calls for a deeper examination of preventive measures and support systems to protect vulnerable individuals from such devastating outcomes.

In the meanwhile, Linares’ legacy as a devoted mother and a hopeful immigrant to the U.S. resonates within a community that continues to seek justice and understanding in the wake of these shocking events.
