Cold Case from 2013: Arrest Made in Connection with Pennsylvania Homicide Case

HILLTOWN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (TCD) – A man has been arrested a decade after his alleged involvement in a violent crime in Hilltown Township, Pennsylvania. Thomas Delgado, 50 years old, was taken into custody on charges including criminal homicide, rape, robbery, burglary, and kidnapping in connection with the death of Joseph Canazaro.

The arrest came almost exactly 10 years after the incident in which Delgado and another man allegedly broke into Canazaro’s home, tied up his family, stole money and guns, and sexually assaulted his girlfriend. The district attorney’s office alleges that Delgado also raped Canazaro’s girlfriend.

The investigation leading to Delgado’s arrest has been ongoing since the 2013 incident. In January that year, Canazaro was found deceased in his garage with multiple stab wounds. The incident occurred after Delgado and another suspect reportedly entered Canazaro’s residence on the 300 block of Swartley Road, binding Canazaro’s girlfriend and son before ransacking the house.

According to reports, Delgado and the other suspect stole Canazaro’s truck and left it at a mall. Evidence collected from the scene and the truck led investigators to Delgado, including a pair of gardening gloves found near the truck and a black mask with Delgado’s DNA on it.

Additionally, communication between Canazaro and Delgado was found on 10 out of 11 cellphones recovered from Canazaro’s home, strengthening the case against Delgado.

The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office announced that Delgado is being held without bail at the Bucks County Jail. The arrest serves as a significant development in a cold case that has haunted the community for nearly a decade.
