Convicted New Jersey Man Guilty of Ex-Wife’s Fatal Stabbing

Cherry Hill, New Jersey – A 76-year-old man was recently convicted of brutally murdering his ex-wife in a shocking crime that has left the community reeling. Philip Puche was found guilty of murder, robbery, burglary, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose after a lengthy trial, announced the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office. The verdict was reached on Wednesday, and Puche now faces the possibility of life in prison when he is sentenced next month.

The tragic incident unfolded on July 19, 2020, when police responded to a distress call at a residence in Audubon Park Borough. They discovered Nancy Kenny, Puche’s ex-wife, suffering from multiple stab wounds and lacerations to her head and neck. Despite her injuries, Kenny was able to identify Puche as her attacker, recounting how he had broken into her home and launched a vicious assault. Puche was apprehended later that same day and has remained in custody ever since.

Following the attack, Kenny was rushed to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where she underwent emergency surgery. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries on March 15, 2021, at the age of 63. The medical examiner determined her cause of death to be a homicide due to the severe wounds inflicted upon her head and neck, prompting prosecutors to elevate the charges against Puche from first-degree attempted murder to first-degree murder.

Authorities have refrained from disclosing the specific items stolen by Puche during the robbery and burglary that occurred at Kenny’s residence. The victim, a mother of four, had remarried prior to her untimely death, as noted in an obituary shared by the Foster-Warne Funeral Home. The senseless loss of Kenny has left friends, family, and the community grappling with the brutality of her murder and seeking justice in the upcoming sentencing of Puche.
