DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A judge has ruled that a man accused of murdering the boyfriend of his child’s mother will remain in custody without bond. Keenan Williams faces a charge of malice murder in the death of Cole Pitter, who was shot outside his girlfriend’s home on July 6.
During a recent court hearing, state prosecutors outlined their case against Williams, suggesting that he had been monitoring Pitter’s movements before the shooting. According to the prosecution, evidence from phone records indicates that Williams spent significant time hiding in the bushes near the victim’s residence on several occasions leading up to the tragic event.
Pitter, a Georgia State University graduate and engineer, was remembered by family as a cherished member of the community. Chaz Pitter, Cole’s brother, expressed the profound loss saying, “He had a positive impact on everybody he met. Everybody loved him because he kept in contact with everyone.”
