Deputy Killed in Opelousas Shooting: Off-Duty Officer Loses Life in Senseless Act of Violence

Opelousas, Louisiana – An off-duty corrections deputy from the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office tragically lost her life in a shooting incident that occurred on Tuesday night in Opelousas. The victim, identified as 23-year-old Chanterria “Mackey” Albert, succumbed to her injuries at an Opelousas hospital following the shooting on Park Avenue. Another individual was also injured in the incident but remains in stable condition.
