Development Control Officer Cordaro Seymour Found Dead in Car with Gunshot Wounds – Police Investigating as Murder

PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos Islands – On Sunday, December 17th, 2023, 27-year-old Cordaro Seymour, a resident of Grand Turk, was fatally shot in The Bight area of Providenciales. Law enforcement officials discovered his lifeless body in a car not far from the scene of the shooting.

According to Denyse Renne, the police media relations manager, authorities were responding to a report of a car accident on Leeward Highway when they spotted a man slumped in the driver’s seat with apparent gunshot wounds. Renne confirmed that the case is being actively investigated as a murder, with speculation of multiple shooting incidents. However, only one shooting incident resulted in two people being injured, and tragically, Seymour did not survive.

Seymour, who resided on Horse Shoe Lane in Providenciales, held the position of development control officer in the physical planning department of the ministry of physical planning and infrastructure development. His untimely passing prompted Deputy Governor and Head of the Public Service, Her Excellency Anya Williams, to offer her heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues, and friends, acknowledging Seymour’s dedication and respected service to the public.

The Turks and Caicos Islands Public Service expressed their gratitude for Seymour’s contributions in improving the planning and future development of the islands during his tenure.
