Discovery: Three Young Sisters Found Dead in Washington, Father Arrested in Connection with Gruesome Murders

WENATCHEE, Wash. — The tragedy deepened last week as the bodies of three young sisters were discovered, leading to their father being implicated in their deaths. The girls, ages 5 to 9, were last seen during a visit with their father, Travis Decker, who failed to return them to their mother, prompting a missing person alert.

Authorities launched a search over the weekend that culminated on Monday when they located Decker’s vehicle near Rock Island Campground, not far from where the girls’ remains were eventually found. As investigators used cellphone records and license plate readers to trace his movements, the circumstances surrounding the children’s disappearance grew increasingly grim.

The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warrant for Decker, charging him with three counts of first-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping. The probable cause affidavit reveals harrowing details about the conditions of the girls’ remains: each was discovered with plastic bags over their heads, and evidence suggested their wrists may have been bound with zip ties.

Search teams discovered the bodies just 75 to 100 yards from the truck, positioned down a small embankment. In the vicinity, they found additional zip ties and plastic bags. A bloody handprint was also identified on the vehicle’s tailgate, further indicating the violent nature of the alleged crime.

In a troubling context, divorce documents indicated increasing concerns about Decker’s behavior, including prior instances of conflict between him and the children’s mother. Those documents painted a picture of a contentious relationship that may have escalated dangerously.

As investigators continue to piece together the timeline of events, the community mourns the loss of the young girls, identified as Paityn, Evelyn, and Olivia. The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office urged anyone with information about Decker to contact authorities immediately and advised against approaching him due to the potential for danger.

This case underscores the ongoing struggles faced by families entangled in high-conflict custody disputes, and the devastating consequences that can sometimes follow. The investigation remains active, and authorities are determined to bring justice for the innocent lives lost.
