Drug Dealers Receive Lengthy Prison Sentences After Overdose Death Involvement

MATTHEWS, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Two drug dealers from North Carolina have been sentenced to lengthy prison terms this week after pleading guilty in a case involving an overdose death, as announced by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of North Carolina.

Patrick Tylicki, 32, from Matthews, will serve 12 years, while Gregory Kirk, 28, from Charlotte, will serve nearly 20 years after both men pled guilty in 2022.

According to court records, the two men sold fentanyl to an individual on January 26, 2021, who later died from an overdose. Despite knowing about the death, they continued dealing drugs, and were ultimately apprehended by undercover agents.

A search warrant executed at Kirk’s residence revealed around 10,000 units of fentanyl and 13 pounds of marijuana.

The sentences for the two drug dealers come as a firm stance against the opioid crisis gripping communities, illustrating the severe consequences for those involved in drug-related deaths.
