Longleng, Nagaland – District Level Training on Online Registration of Births & Deaths was recently conducted in Longleng district, aiming to enhance the efficiency and accountability of registrars in the registration process. The training, which took place at the Conference Hall of the District Economics & Statistics Office, saw the participation of registrars from various registration units within the district.
During the training session, Deputy Commissioner and District Chief Registrar of Births & Deaths, Dharam Raj, emphasized the importance of maintaining accurate records and discouraging the issuance of multiple birth certificates to individuals. He stressed that each individual can only have one birth or death certificate in their lifetime, highlighting the significance of avoiding duplications in the registration process. The DC also expressed the expectation that all registrars would carry out their duties with sincerity and efficiency after receiving the necessary training.
In his opening remarks, R Thsanso Yimchunger, Deputy Director & DESO Longleng, extended gratitude to the District Chief Registrar of Births & Deaths, the Resource Person Chonbeni Oren Patton – Economic & Statistics Officer (ESO) from DES Kohima, and all participants for their involvement in the training program. The event was chaired by Amos Phom, IOS.
The training program aimed to equip registrars with the knowledge and skills necessary to handle online registration processes effectively. By emphasizing the importance of accuracy and accountability in recording birth and death occurrences, the District hopes to streamline the registration system and prevent any instances of negligence in the future.
