Explosion at Telangana Chemical Factory Claims Five Lives and Injures Ten

Telangana, India – A tragic explosion at a chemical factory in the Sangareddy district of Telangana left at least five people dead and 10 others injured on Wednesday evening. The incident took place at SB Organics Private Ltd, a pharmaceutical company located in Chandapur village of Hatunura mandal, approximately 60 km away from Hyderabad. The explosion occurred around 5:30 pm, causing widespread devastation.

According to local authorities, the factory had approximately 60 workers on shift at the time, with 15 workers operating at the reactor where the explosion originated. The blast led to flames engulfing the entire unit, resulting in the collapse of the building. The swift response of the Patancheru Police, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravinder Reddy, along with the arrival of two fire tenders, helped bring the flames under control within an hour.

Tragically, five bodies were recovered from the scene, including those of the production manager, identified as Ravi, and shift in-charge Perni Subrahmanyam. The identities of the other deceased workers, whose bodies were severely mutilated, are yet to be determined. It is believed that the workers affected by the explosion were from Bihar.

In response to the situation, Sangareddy Superintendent of Police Ch Rupesh, State Minister Konda Surekha, Narasapur MLA Sunitha Laxma Reddy, and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Medak Lok Sabha seat M Raghunandan Rao visited the site to inquire about the incident. Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy met with officials to review the situation and ordered the fire department to accelerate rescue operations and control the fire effectively.

The injured workers were promptly transported to Sangareddy government hospital and some were further transferred to Hyderabad for advanced medical treatment. Authorities are still investigating the exact cause of the explosion. This tragic event serves as a reminder of the risks faced by those working in hazardous environments and the importance of stringent safety measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
