Explosion Levels Local Landmark – No Foul Play Suspected

BARNEVELD, N.Y. – The Barneveld Fire Department has reported that there is no evidence of foul or suspicious play in the explosion that destroyed Cindy’s Diner on Friday night in Oneida County. The diner, a well-known local establishment, suffered a violent explosion around 8:00 p.m., leaving debris scattered across Route 12.

Emergency responders, including the Barneveld Fire Department, quickly arrived at the scene, shutting down the roadway for a period of time while they worked to address the aftermath of the explosion. Fortunately, it has been confirmed that no one was inside the diner at the time of the blast, and there have been no reports of injuries.

The locally beloved diner, situated between the villages of Barneveld and Remsen, has been a popular spot for locals to grab a quick bite to eat. The fire was brought under control within a half-hour of firefighters’ arrival.
