Explosive Suspect Sought by Elk Grove Police After Back-to-Back Blasts Near Jones Park

Elk Grove, California – The Elk Grove Police Department is actively searching for a suspect who is believed to have caused two explosions in close proximity to Jones Park.

According to authorities, the suspect was caught on surveillance cameras riding a bicycle into a residential area near Jones Park. The first explosion occurred inside a bathroom at Jones Park around 7:30 p.m., prompting a swift response from law enforcement. The following day, surveillance footage captured the suspect, wearing a black hoodie, as he approached a trash can on his bicycle on Baneberry Court.

In the video, the suspect can be seen placing an object into the trash can before a loud explosion erupts, leading to significant damage to the bin. The explosion also triggered a nearby car alarm, further heightening concerns over the suspect’s reckless actions.

Elk Grove PD revealed that the explosive device used in both incidents was identified as high-grade illegal commercial fireworks. The authorities have linked the suspect to the previous explosion at Jones Park, raising alarms about the potential danger posed by the individual.
