Fatal Two-Car Crash on I-15 Leaves Three Dead and Multiple Injured

Barstow, California – A tragic two-car crash on I-15 resulted in the deaths of three individuals on Saturday afternoon. The collision occurred under wet road conditions due to rainfall, involving a Mercedes and a Kia traveling northbound on the interstate. The aftermath of the accident led to significant traffic delays, with drivers experiencing a standstill for nearly three hours before one lane was reopened to alleviate congestion.

Upon arrival at the scene, Barstow police discovered that the Kia had hydroplaned, crossed four lanes and the center median, ultimately colliding head-on with the Mercedes SUV traveling in the opposite direction. The crash claimed the lives of two passengers in the Kia and one individual in the Mercedes. In addition to the fatalities, multiple individuals sustained varying degrees of injuries between the two vehicles involved.

Among those involved in the tragic incident, a 43-year-old woman and a 13-year-old boy in the Kia lost their lives, while an 11-year-old boy in the Mercedes also tragically passed away. In terms of injuries, a 3-year-old boy, a 7-year-old boy, and a 19-year-old man in the Kia, as well as a 15-year-old boy and a 34-year-old woman in the Mercedes, suffered major injuries. The driver of the Kia, a 52-year-old man, was also among those who sustained moderate injuries, along with a 38-year-old man who was driving the Mercedes and only suffered minor injuries.

The devastating crash not only resulted in loss of life but also caused significant disruption on the interstate, with lanes reopening in the early hours of the morning following the incident. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic collision on I-15 in Barstow, California.
