BOYNTON BEACH, FL – A quiet afternoon in Boynton Beach turned violent when an 18-year-old was taken into custody after allegedly attacking a pregnant woman, police said.
Authorities say the confrontation unfolded on January 19 at a Southwest Fourth Avenue residence, shattering the calm of the Miami metro area suburb. Officers responding to the home were met with raw emotion—the pregnant victim was found distraught and in tears, displaying noticeable injuries.
The incident began, according to law enforcement, when the soon-to-be mother arrived home to find Victoria Webb in the midst of a heated dispute with a young boy. Attempting to intervene and defuse the escalating tension, the victim was suddenly assaulted. Police say Webb struck the woman in the face before delivering a forceful kick to her abdomen. Shockingly, the victim was six months pregnant when the assault occurred.
Investigators spoke with the child at the scene, who recounted that the trouble started as he and another young person played with water, which incited Webb’s anger. The boy claimed Webb pushed his head down to the point where he struggled to breathe, leaving him visibly shaken and sobbing when officers arrived.
As officers pieced together accounts from those present, Webb was located walking away from the home, phone pressed to her ear. She was swiftly detained. During questioning, police say Webb confessed to knowing the woman was pregnant but displayed little remorse, telling authorities she acted in retaliation and that, in her words, “if she were hit, she would hit back.”
Webb further alleged during her interview that she had been struck by the pregnant woman, insisting that she acted in self-defense rather than merely lashing out. However, officers expressed skepticism about her version of events, noting Webb had only a single facial scratch and lacked injuries that would be expected from her claims of being attacked with a blow dryer.
The victim’s husband later backed up his wife’s account, providing details that aligned with her and the child’s statements, authorities said.
Webb faces serious charges, including aggravated battery on a pregnant woman and aggravated child abuse. She was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail but was able to post bond Thursday.
Court records show her next court date is February 18, with an initial hearing set for March 12 as the case moves forward.
