Florida woman kidnapped and strangled by boyfriend inside her car

RIVIERA BEACH, FL – A 22-year-old man faces several felony charges after authorities say he assaulted and held his girlfriend against her will during a violent episode that unfolded over the weekend across multiple Palm Beach County locations.

According to court officials, Nicolas Guy was arrested Wednesday and charged with kidnapping via false imprisonment, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, domestic battery by strangulation, issuing written threats to kill, and obstructing justice. He is currently being held on a $50,000 bond.

The ordeal began late Saturday night when the woman, who had been dating Guy for about eight months, picked him up from work and drove him to his apartment complex in Riviera Beach. In the parking lot, investigators allege Guy attacked her, hitting her in the eye with a metal object and injuring her hands. He then allegedly seized her car keys, physically restrained her, and forced her into her vehicle.

Court documents indicate that after taking control of the car and the victim’s phone, Guy drove away from the apartment complex despite the woman’s pleas to stop. She told authorities she recognized passing landmarks near her workplace and asked to be dropped off, but Guy refused and would not let her inform her employer about missing her shift.

Roughly 20 minutes later, Guy stopped in the parking lot of another apartment building off Malibu Bay Drive West, approximately six miles from where the encounter began. There, according to the woman’s statement, he renewed his attack: he allegedly dragged her by the hair, locked the car doors to prevent escape, and strangled her until she pretended to lose consciousness.

The violence escalated further when Guy reportedly brandished a folding pocketknife and demanded that she unlock her phone for location tracking. When she refused, she said he threatened to kill her and her family. The victim seized a brief chance to toss the weapon out of the car window, infuriating Guy, who then allegedly struck her head against the steering wheel.

The woman described multiple failed attempts to flee, as Guy held or locked the car doors. At one point, he forced the passenger door closed with such force that it broke the door’s side mirror, according to the affidavit. He eventually drove them back to his apartment in Riviera Beach.

In her account to police, the woman said she could not immediately escape because Guy kept her phone and hid her house and car keys. After spending the night at his residence, she managed to quietly retrieve her keys Sunday morning. She left for work and called police from there, believing it would be safe.

During her interview with investigators, she described previous violent encounters with Guy, including incidents where he allegedly pointed a firearm at her and fired shots near her home. She shared that he kept an assault-style pistol concealed in a backpack on his porch and sometimes lingered near her house for hours.

Investigators also reviewed threatening messages the victim said Guy sent her after the alleged kidnapping, referencing harming her family members and using firearms. She told police she feared for her life and the safety of her loved ones.

When police met with the woman, they observed visible injuries, including swelling around her left eye and lifted hair from her scalp.

Guy appeared in court Thursday for his initial hearing and is scheduled to return later this month to face the charges. The investigation is ongoing, as authorities gather further evidence and review the extent of previous threats.
