Gas Station Death Investigation Launched Due to Unresponsive Person – What Happened in Victorville at Chevron?

VICTORVILLE, Calif. – Authorities in San Bernardino County are conducting a death investigation following the discovery of an unresponsive person near a Chevron gas station. The Victorville Fire Department received a distress call on Saturday, November 25, 2023, reporting an incident at the Chevron Extra Mile fuel station on the 14200 block of Bear Valley Road. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a small fire near the entrance of the business and a deceased male subject.

Although initial reports from a store employee indicated that a homeless individual had reported seeing a woman on fire, no confirmation on these allegations has been provided by sheriff’s officials. The parking lot adjacent to the Chevron station has been cordoned off for the investigation, while the Coroner’s Office is expected to perform an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death and establish the identity of the deceased individual. Authorities have urged anyone with information related to this investigation to contact the Specialized Investigations Division or We-Tip to remain anonymous.
