Edgewood, Md. – A man confessed to the murder of a woman in Edgewood in 2022, pleading guilty to first-degree murder at the Harford County Circuit Court. Jamar Deverick Wise, 43, admitted to the killing of Kisha Blackwell, 46, who was shot and killed in the driveway outside her home on Majesty Lane on Dec. 20, 2022. Despite the efforts of law enforcement and prompt arrival, Blackwell tragically passed away the following day.
The 911 call reporting the incident was made by Blackwell’s 15-year-old daughter, and the altercation was also captured on video by a neighbor’s cellphone. Wise was apprehended in Pennsylvania on Dec. 22, still in possession of the weapon used in the shooting. He now faces a sentencing scheduled for May 10, with an agreed-upon sentence range of life in prison, with all but 80 years suspended to life without parole.
