Gwinnett County Man Left with Broken Back and Stab Wounds After Gas Station Attack, Suspect Arrested

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A brutal attack at a gas station in Gwinnett County left a man with a broken back and stab wounds, according to his family. Warren Crayton, 37, was arrested by Duluth police on Monday for randomly assaulting two individuals in the same vicinity before fleeing a shopping center the previous week.

Surveillance video obtained by investigators captured the assailant, clad in a blue shirt, repeatedly kicking the victim before making a hasty escape. The victim, Alfonso Peralta, a worker at a car wash by the Shell gas station, was left with a broken back due to the violent onslaught. Peralta’s family has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to help cover medical expenses and living costs.

According to details shared on the GoFundMe page, Peralta sustained multiple stab wounds in addition to the severe back injury during the attack. The family disclosed that the assailant targeted Peralta after approaching a group at the car wash, leading to the vicious assault that has left him hospitalized and facing a lengthy recovery period before he can walk again.

In a separate incident that occurred an hour earlier, a 16-year-old victim reported being punched in the face by a stranger outside a Kroger store in the same area. The motive behind these attacks remains unclear, leaving the victims stunned by the unexpected violence.
