Homicide Investigation: Meridian Police Seek Public’s Help in Double Murder Case

Meridian, Mississippi – The Meridian Police Department is urging the community to assist in providing any information that may aid investigators in solving a double homicide case.

During a press conference on Friday, Police Chief Deborah Naylor Young revealed that officers had responded to a potential home invasion call just after 6 p.m. on Thursday. Upon arrival, they discovered the bodies of Miles Herrington, aged 97, and his wife, Ina Herrington, aged 94, both deceased with multiple injuries.

“The violent crime unit of the Meridian Police Department has been activated to collect all evidence and gather further information to progress with the investigation,” stated Chief Deborah Naylor Young during the press conference.

Autopsies have been scheduled for both victims to provide valuable insights for the ongoing investigation. Chief Young extended condolences and sympathies to the families affected by this tragic and violent incident.

Chief Young emphasized the active engagement of the MPD in the investigation, with law enforcement officials diligently working to unravel the circumstances of the case and identify any suspects involved.
