Cleveland, Ohio – A young woman from Cleveland has been indicted on serious charges related to the chase and fatal shooting of Antwoina Carter. Trinity Ford, 19, faces charges of murder, felonious assault, and discharging a weapon on a public roadway. Ford will appear in court on Friday for her arraignment and is currently being held on a $1 million bond.
It is alleged that Ford was the driver of the vehicle involved in the chase with Carter on March 17. The shooter, who has not been apprehended, fired multiple shots at Carter from the passenger side window of the car on East 105th Street. Tragically, Carter, a 26-year-old resident of Cleveland, succumbed to gunshot wounds to her back, resulting in her death being ruled a homicide. The victim suffered severe injuries to her heart and spine before crashing her car in front of her mother’s home on Garfield Avenue.
Reports indicate that prior to the shooting, two Cleveland police officers were at Carter’s mother’s residence in response to a disturbance complaint. The county medical examiner’s office has stated that initial examinations do not suggest that the police actions directly caused Carter’s death.
