Indicted Man Sought After Murder of Monique Yanulavich in Plattsburgh: Police Seek Public’s Help

Plattsburgh, New York – Larry Hicks Jr. has been indicted by a Clinton County Grand Jury in connection to the death of Monique Yanulavich. However, Hicks is currently at large, with the search for his whereabouts ongoing. Police describe Hicks, a 47-year-old man from Tabor City, North Carolina, as last seen boarding a bus in Corpus Christi, Texas, bound for Brownsville, Texas. He is 6’7″ and approximately 300 pounds with blue eyes.

Hicks has been indicted for second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon. This is not the first time Hicks has faced such serious charges. In 2005, he was charged with murder in South Carolina, but was eventually convicted of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to 5 years in prison after a key witness recanted their testimony.

Yanulavich, 45, was found stabbed to death in her car in the parking lot of Champlain National Bank in Plattsburgh on the evening of July 14, 2022, after a welfare check was requested from police. This tragic event has raised concerns and is in connection with Hicks’ indictment.

After the murder, Hicks is believed to have traveled to South Carolina, where members of Michelle Jacobs Suggs’ family claim to have seen him in his hometown of Hartsville, attending a funeral. He was reportedly clean-shaven and had a fresh haircut during this sighting.

Anyone with information on Hicks’ whereabouts is urged to contact the New York State Police at 518-563-3761. There is an ongoing effort to locate Hicks and bring him to justice for the crimes he has been accused of committing.
