Intoxicated Wisconsin man says fiancee did him wrong and that’s why he stabbed her

WEST BEND, WI – A West Bend woman is recovering in the hospital after a violent stabbing that left her gravely wounded in her own apartment over the weekend. Authorities say her fiancé inflicted the injuries in a sudden and brutal attack that has shocked the local community.

Police responded to a 911 call early Sunday morning in the apartment the couple shared, just north of Milwaukee. When officers arrived, they found the woman lying on her back in the bedroom, her body covered in blood-soaked blankets. The victim was suffering from multiple stab wounds, including a deep gash on her hip, several severe cuts across her thigh and knee, and a large horizontal wound to her abdomen so severe that part of her intestine was exposed.

Emergency responders quickly transported the woman to a nearby hospital. According to law enforcement, she was rushed into emergency surgery, where medical staff had to remove a portion of her damaged intestines. Details on her current condition have not been released.

The attack reportedly began late Saturday night, after what should have been an ordinary evening. The victim, who had abstained from drinking, had picked up food for dinner and later played board games with her fiancé, Kevin Fischer, and his sister. Observations in a criminal complaint indicate Fischer drank heavily throughout the night.

After Fischer’s sister left around midnight, the woman told him she was tired and ready to go to bed, authorities said. Without warning, Fischer allegedly threatened her life and launched the vicious knife attack. Investigators said the victim told them she had no idea what triggered the explosion of violence, describing the assault as completely unexpected.

Police say Fischer waited several hours after the assault before calling for help. In the 911 call placed around 3:20 a.m., Fischer stated he had stabbed his fiancé during an argument and admitted she was bleeding “really bad.” The victim, audibly in pain in the background, confirmed her suffering as Fischer told the dispatcher he was sorry for his actions.

When officers arrived, Fischer opened the door, reportedly slurring his words and crying uncontrollably. Inside, police found evidence of heavy drinking and quickly located the victim and the bloody knife used in the attack.

Investigators report that after the stabbing, Fischer covered his fiancé’s abdomen with blankets and took a shower before finally calling for help. In statements to police, Fischer expressed contradictory emotions, telling investigators he was sorry and professing love for the victim, all while acknowledging his intent.

Court documents detail that Fischer has been charged with first-degree attempted intentional homicide with a dangerous weapon—a crime that carries the possibility of a 60-year prison sentence if he is convicted. He remains in custody following his initial appearance in Washington County court on Monday and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on April 2.

The case remains under investigation, and the community closely follows the woman’s recovery as her alleged attacker faces serious legal consequences.
