DAYTON, Ohio – Police in Dayton are currently investigating a small explosion that occurred outside a residential home on Tuesday night. According to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch, the authorities were called to the 4700 block of Prescott Avenue just after 9 p.m.
The blast damaged a car but did not cause any harm to the home, police reported. Initially, the call came in as “shots fired,” but upon further investigation, it was determined that the loud noise was caused by a small explosion.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in connection with the incident. Police at the scene have stated that they believe the explosion was intentionally set. In a follow-up statement, Sgt. Ben Wolodkiewicz mentioned that the police are actively investigating the incident and are working to identify a suspect. He also assured that this appears to be an isolated incident and that there is no further threat to public safety.
