KENSINGTON: Robbery Suspects Beat and Shoot Man for Car Keys, Police Say

PHILADELPHIA, PA – A man was the victim of a brutal beating and shooting during a robbery in the Kensington neighborhood on Friday night. The 43-year-old man was parked on Rising Sun Avenue around 11:30 when a male and female suspect armed with a gun forced their way into his car. They then drove the man to the 3000 block of Helen Street, where they proceeded to beat him and then shoot him in both legs before fleeing with the victim’s car keys.

The victim was found by police on the 2900 block of Frankford Avenue and was taken to Temple University Hospital in stable condition. Police located and towed the victim’s car from the 3000 block of Helen Street. The suspects, believed to be between 20 and 25 years old, are still at large, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward.
