Logan Woman Fatally Shot on North Broad Street in Philadelphia, Police Investigating

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – An ongoing investigation is currently in progress following a tragic incident where a woman lost her life due to a gunshot wound on North Broad Street in the Logan neighborhood on Saturday evening. The Philadelphia Police Inspector D F Pace provided updates on the situation to CBS News Philadelphia shortly after the incident was reported.

According to Pace, the authorities received a 911 call at approximately 4:42 p.m. regarding a shooting on the 4800 block of North Broad Street. Upon their arrival at the scene, they discovered a 33-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her midsection. The woman was immediately transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center by medics but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries at 5:15 p.m.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still unclear, with Pace stating uncertainty regarding the direction of the gunshot and the potential whereabouts of the shooter. Surveillance footage revealed several individuals in the vicinity at the time of the incident, yet the motive behind the shooting remains unknown.

Authorities have secured the deli where the woman sought shelter after being shot, and the investigation currently spans the entirety of the 4800 block. As of now, no arrests have been made, and no weapons have been recovered in connection to the tragic event. Additional details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
