New York City, NY – A horrific incident at the Fulton Street subway station in lower Manhattan has left a 29-year-old woman hospitalized after she was pushed onto the tracks by her boyfriend, resulting in both her feet being severed by an oncoming train. The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Christian Valdez, has a history of violence, having previously been imprisoned for a brutal home invasion in 2017.
Valdez, who was residing at a women’s homeless shelter in Brooklyn, was apprehended by police about 11 hours after the subway station attack. He now faces charges of attempted murder and felony assault in connection with the incident. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was rushed to Bellevue Hospital and is currently in stable condition. Back in 2017, he broke into an apartment in the Bronx borough, where he stabbed a woman and attempted to throw her 3-year-old daughter from a fire escape. He was convicted of second-degree attempted assault and sentenced to eight years in prison for that offense.
