Man Charged with Capital Murder in Pregnant Woman’s Slaying

MCKINNEY, Texas – A man is now facing a capital murder charge in the killing of a pregnant woman, as revealed by the woman’s autopsy, McKinney police said.

Nasib Ahsan, 33, was taken into custody following the discovery of Nawreen Tuli’s body on Christmas, the police reported. Ahsan was put into the Collin County jail on December 26 after being out on bond for an earlier charge of assaulting a pregnant person. It is unclear if he has legal representation.

Police officers responded to a welfare concern call at an apartment in McKinney on December 25, where they found Tuli’s body. A relative, concerned about Tuli’s well-being and aware of a history of domestic violence at the apartment, had contacted the authorities, the police said.

According to the police, Ahsan told officers that Tuli was sleeping inside the apartment, but upon further inspection, officers found her deceased on a bed. An autopsy confirmed that Tuli was pregnant. The police have not revealed further information, citing an ongoing investigation.

Ahsan remains in custody at the Collin County jail, with bail for the capital murder charge set at $1 million, jail records indicate.
