Man Fatally Shot at Valley Center Home, Investigation Underway

Valley Center, Kansas – The peace of Valley Center, Kansas, was shattered on Sunday when a 46-year-old man tragically lost his life in a shooting at his residence. The Valley Center Police Department was called to 7400 N. West St. at 1:42 a.m., where they discovered Kirk Stanley suffering from a gunshot wound.

Stanley was rushed to the hospital, but sadly succumbed to his injuries. In connection with the incident, a 22-year-old woman was taken into custody and questioned. The nature of the relationship between Stanley and the woman remains unclear at this time.

Following a forensic examination, the woman was released. The Sedgwick Co. Sheriff’s Office and the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office also aided in the investigation at the scene. Valley Center police have not disclosed further details surrounding the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
