EDMOND, OK – A 21-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly shooting his girlfriend’s husband in the parking lot of a plasma donation center, authorities said.
According to Edmond police, officers responded to a shooting last Tuesday outside the Biomat USA Plasma Center, where they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Investigators say the incident began when the husband confronted Micah Hill, who was reportedly sitting in a car outside the facility while his girlfriend, the victim’s wife, was inside.
Hill later told officers he was fearful during the confrontation, referencing a previous altercation where the husband allegedly spat at and threatened him. Police documents state that Hill said he “felt scared sitting inside the car” and retrieved a pistol before stepping out to meet his girlfriend’s husband in the parking lot.
During the encounter, Hill claimed the husband acted aggressively and lunged toward him. Hill admitted to police that at that point, he drew his firearm and shot the man twice.
According to witness accounts provided to authorities, chaos ensued inside the plasma center when the wounded man ran into the building, calling for help. Witnesses described seeing him collapse inside, revealing gunshot wounds. Several patrons attempted to assist as emergency services were called.
Hill remained at the scene following the shooting and told police he had acted in self-defense, insisting he couldn’t physically overpower the husband in a fight. In a probable cause affidavit, Hill allegedly stated, “I couldn’t do anything unless I shot him.”
Emergency responders transported the victim to a local hospital. As of Wednesday, officials have not released an update on his condition.
The Edmond Police Department charged Hill with assault with a deadly weapon. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing additional witnesses as they continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding the confrontation.
Police have not identified the victim, citing an ongoing investigation. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
Court records indicate that Hill remains in custody as the legal process moves forward. At this stage, a court date has not been set as prosecutors review evidence and witness statements.
