Manhunt Intensifies: Suspect Found Dead After Killing Seven People in Joliet Shooting Spree

Joliet, Illinois – Law enforcement authorities in Joliet, Illinois, were urgently searching for a suspect considered “armed and dangerous” after seven people were found dead from gunshot wounds on Monday afternoon.

The suspected shooter, Romeo Nance, was believed to be driving a Red Toyota Camry with the license plate Q730412. He was found to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after being confronted by law enforcement Monday night in Texas.

According to the authorities, the shootings occurred at two separate homes in the 2200 block of West Acres Road in Joliet. The police department mentioned that the situation was “active” and the investigation was still ongoing.

Police in Joliet were also attempting to locate the same vehicle in connection with two additional shootings that occurred on Sunday. In those incidents, one man was fatally shot at Pheasant Run Apartments, while another man sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the city of Joliet.

At this time, the victims in the shootings remain unidentified, and the incidents seemed to be random. The Will County Sheriff’s Office announced that the same vehicle was present at both crime scenes prior to the shootings.

Law enforcement authorities closed West Acres Road and a portion of Madison Street due to the ongoing investigation, advising the public to report the whereabouts of the suspect’s vehicle to 911 without approaching it. Further details concerning the incidents were pending release by the police.

The developments in this case will be closely monitored and updated as the investigation continues.
