Fayetteville, North Carolina – Police have arrested Tayshon Amonte Covington, 23, for the alleged murder of Donte Jemal Lucas, 36, outside a convenience store on Valentine’s Day. Surveillance footage captured the fatal shooting, where Covington, wearing a mask, pulled out a gun and shot Lucas in the forehead.
The warrant revealed that Covington had entered the store without the mask 30 minutes prior to the shooting. Witnesses identified Covington as the shooter, known by the nicknames “Lil Kodiak” and “Lil Black.” Covington was apprehended by U.S. Marshals and charged with first-degree murder.
