Memorial Service Held for Slain Reedley Couple

REEDLEY, Calif. – In a heart-wrenching memorial service, doves were released into the sky to honor the memory of Guadalupe and Matthew Bonds, a couple tragically killed earlier this month. The service was filled with grief as family and friends gathered to pay their final respects. Guadalupe was found in the backyard of her home with Billy Bonds and Darrell Bonds, while Matthew was discovered inside a detached garage at his next-door neighbor’s home. The investigation into the killing of the four family members by Reedley police led to a new search at a home on 13th and L streets.

As the community struggles to come to terms with the senseless loss, loved ones are left with unanswered questions, wondering why this tragedy occurred and who would harbor such hatred for them. Inside the Redeemer’s church, pictures of Guadalupe adorned the walls as the couple’s caskets were loaded into the hearse. Family and friends gathered, embracing each other as they bid their final farewells.

The pain of the loss is particularly acute for Guadalupe’s brother, Moses Martinez, who fondly remembered her ability to bring people together through her barbecues. He also spoke of Matthew, describing him as the nicest guy, always willing to lend a helping hand. Looking ahead, the family will face another difficult day as they prepare for the funeral services for Billy and Darrell Bonds at the Reedley Cemetery Service building.

The community is left grappling with a profound sense of loss and a deep longing for justice. As the investigation into the tragic deaths continues, the memory of Guadalupe and Matthew Bonds will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved them.
