Minister Condemns Train Arson as Unforgivable ‘Crime against Humanity’

Dhaka, Bangladesh – Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen condemned the tragic incident of the Beanpole express being set ablaze, resulting in the death of four people, as a “Crime against Humanity” on Saturday. The minister expressed his outrage at the attack, labeling it as a deliberate attempt to undermine democratic values and disrupt the upcoming election scheduled for January 7.

Momen emphasized the significance of the timing of the incident, occurring just one day before the election, as a clear indication of the perpetrators’ intent to disrupt the democratic process in the country. The deliberate act of setting fire to a train, resulting in the horrifying deaths of innocent passengers, was characterized as an abominable act by the minister. Momen reassured the public that every effort would be made to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure exemplary punishment is administered according to the law. The tragic incident, which occurred in the Gopibagh Kacha Bazar area in the capital, resulted in the deaths of four people, including two children, and left numerous others injured.
