Minneapolis man stabbed to death by 21-year-old roommate during argument over $15

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – A Minneapolis man is facing charges after allegedly admitting to fatally stabbing his roommate over a $15 dispute. Sincir Malik Porter, 21, is being held at Hennepin County Jail on a $1 million bond in connection with the death of his roommate, 25-year-old Abdirahman Adan Abdirahman.

Authorities responded to the scene on Sunday after receiving distress calls. Upon arrival, they encountered a gruesome scene with blood on the floors and walls of the living room. Abdirahman was discovered with a neck wound and was rushed to the hospital, where he was later declared dead.

Investigators say witnesses identified Porter as the assailant. The two men were reportedly seen arguing before Porter allegedly stabbed Abdirahman and fled. One witness initially believed that Porter had merely punched Abdirahman until noticing the blood.

Witnesses further informed the police about the presence of surveillance cameras in the residence, which investigators believe captured the confrontation.

Footage reportedly shows Porter and Abdirahman disputing over the money, with Porter holding a knife. During the exchange, he is seen switching the knife between hands before allegedly stabbing Abdirahman.

The video also reveals Abdirahman attempting to retaliate, seemingly unaware of his injury, before collapsing. Porter was later located by officers in a nearby area, where he reportedly acknowledged his actions, stating, “Yeah, you got me.”

After being taken into custody, Porter allegedly confessed to the stabbing and mentioned having previously contemplated harming Abdirahman and other roommates. He noted they were fortunate not to be in his path.

Porter has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder and awaits a court appearance.
