MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man from Southaven, Mississippi has been sentenced to 45 years in prison after admitting to the murder of his father in 2021, according to District Attorney Matthew Barton.
The District Attorney’s office revealed that on September 2, 2021, Keith Wayne Tucker, while under the influence of alcohol, fatally stabbed his father, Charles Larry Tucker, multiple times in the abdomen and neck with a knife.
Tucker also attacked his girlfriend and her daughter at the time, although both survived the assault.
In response to the sentencing, District Attorney Barton expressed hope that the outcome would provide the family with the strength to continue moving forward. He also emphasized the importance of holding individuals like Tucker, who commit such violent acts, accountable for their actions.
Tucker pleaded guilty to murder and attempted murder and was subsequently sentenced to 45 years in prison.
