Moscow, Russia – Neighbors of the individuals suspected of being involved in the Crocus City Hall shooting shed light on their characters, revealing a mix of violence and success. One member of the group was known to be a violent drunk, while another had a thriving career as a barber.
The father and two sons accused of providing support to the terrorists appeared in a Moscow court facing allegations of aiding in the attack that resulted in the deaths of at least 139 people attending a concert. Shamsidin Fariduni, a suspect detained by Moscow’s security services, allegedly had a history of violent behavior, including a drunken incident where he threatened a dog walker.
In stark contrast, the youngest suspect, 19-year-old Muhammadsobir Faizov, was described by neighbors as a successful barber with a dedicated clientele in Ivanovo. Despite his success, Faizov did not speak Russian fluently and kept to himself most of the time.
Details emerged about the individuals involved in the attack, with Dalerdzhon Mirzoyev, a 32-year-old suspect, known for his interest in amateur wrestling. Mirzoyev, a taxi driver, had been living on an expired residency permit and was linked to the purchase of the vehicle used in the attack.
Isroil Islomov, along with his sons Aminchon and Dilovar, were accused of helping plan the attack, with Dilovar identified as the owner of the vehicle used by the terrorists. The family, originally from Tajikistan, had knowledge of transport routes in the area due to their work as taxi and bus drivers.
As investigations continue, the Health Minister of Russia reported that 22 victims remain in serious condition in the hospital, with the death toll rising to 139. The attack, deemed one of the deadliest in Russia in recent years, also left over 180 people injured.
Russian President Vladimir Putin characterized the gunmen as radical Islamists, sparking speculation about possible connections to Ukraine despite evidence pointing to involvement by an ISIS affiliate. Putin’s statements further fueled tensions between Russia and Ukraine as both sides denied any involvement in the attack.
