Murder and Domestic Violence Charges Filed Against Oakland Man for Girlfriend’s Death

Oakland, California – A man from Oakland faces murder and domestic violence charges after allegedly beating his 24-year-old girlfriend to death, as revealed by court records. The victim, Zoe Reidy-Watts, was discovered deceased in their downtown Oakland apartment on the 100 block of 15th Street where she resided with her boyfriend.

Reports indicate that Reidy-Watts suffered from severe injuries, including multiple rib fractures, a lacerated liver, and visible bruises all over her body, including her neck. The suspect, Victor Frieson III, 27, has been charged with murder and causing harm to a spouse or cohabitant. He is currently being held without bail at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.

Authorities disclosed that Frieson is a registered sex offender with a prior conviction in 2020 for inflicting serious bodily harm during an assault. Although he denied harming Reidy-Watts during police interrogation, he provided conflicting accounts of the events leading up to her death.

Prior to the tragic incident, Reidy-Watts had accused Frieson of domestic violence and sexual assault. The case highlights the importance of addressing and preventing such acts of abuse within relationships.

This disturbing incident serves as a reminder of the consequences of domestic violence and the need for enhanced support for victims. It also underscores the urgent need for society to address the underlying issues that contribute to such violent behavior. Authorities continue to investigate the case to ensure justice is served for Reidy-Watts and to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
