Murder of Atlanta Father by Roommate Sparks Family’s Plea for Justice and Financial Support

FOREST PARK, Ga. – The tragic story of a metro Atlanta father who was killed outside his home has left his family shattered, as they struggle to come to terms with the horrific loss. Linda Crowder, speaking from her home in Las Vegas, expressed her devastation at the loss of her son, 42-year-old Eric Crowder, who was murdered last month outside his home on Waverly Drive in Forest Park.

According to Crowder’s family, he had gotten into a disagreement with his roommates on Dec. 19. As he was leaving for work, one of his roommates allegedly put him in a chokehold for 10 minutes and proceeded to beat him in the head until the police arrived. As a result, Crowder went into cardiac arrest, was put on life support, and tragically passed away this week.

Forest Park Police confirmed that one of Crowder’s roommates, 24-year-old Daniel Benjamin, has been charged with his murder. The victim’s cousin, Angela Kennedy, expressed her heartbreak at the situation, describing the pain as unbearable and unspeakable.

In addition to dealing with emotional pain, the family is also facing a financial struggle to bring Crowder’s body back to the West Coast for a proper burial. A GoFundMe has been set up to help with the expenses.

The investigation into the case continues, as Forest Park Police work to bring justice for the tragic loss of Eric Crowder. This devastating event has left a family shattered and a community in shock at the senseless loss of life.
