Pennsylvania roommate argument turns deadly when one says the other won’t shoot him

DUBOIS, PA – Authorities have apprehended Christopher Euard, 52, after an alleged deadly altercation with his roommate, Timothy Pirraglia, in the gated Treasure Lake community. The incident reportedly stemmed from a dispute over their living arrangements and concluded tragically with a fatal gunshot during the early hours of June 7.

In a call to the authorities, Euard allegedly confessed to an argument that turned fatal. Upon arriving at the scene, police immediately took Euard into custody and discovered Pirraglia deceased from a shotgun wound to the chest inside their residence.

According to investigators, tensions between the two roommates had been simmering for several weeks. On the night of the incident, Euard claimed a verbal confrontation with Pirraglia escalated after returning home from work. The situation reportedly turned physical, with Pirraglia allegedly striking Euard.

Following the altercation, both individuals retreated to separate rooms in an attempt to cool off. However, about half an hour later, Pirraglia purportedly prepared to leave, prompting a continuation of the argument. Euard admitted to retrieving his AR-15-style rifle during this time.

Testimony from a third roommate who overheard the heated exchange narrated the moments before the shooting.

The affidavit details that after several exchanged insults, Pirraglia allegedly provoked Euard with remarks doubting his resolve to use the weapon. A gunshot ensued soon after the challenge.

In the aftermath, a conversation between Euard and the third roommate, who confronted him about the shooting, reportedly took place. Euard candidly acknowledged, “He’s down,” a statement that prompted the roommate to exit the premises.

Euard delayed reporting the shooting for several hours, later explaining to police that he had “passed out” after the incident. Subsequently charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, and recklessly endangering another person, Euard remains in custody at Clearfield County Jail without bail, pending his court appearance set for Friday.
