Philadelphia Mother Accused of Falsely Claiming Child’s Death in Murder Investigation

PHILADELPHIA, PA – A mother from Philadelphia is facing serious charges after allegedly murdering her child and then falsely claiming that the child was killed by a car. The case has prompted an investigation by the Special Victims Unit, which began on Dec. 30 after receiving a report of a missing child in the West Philadelphia area.

According to police, the child’s mother, 28-year-old Dominique Bailey, had informed her family that the child had been fatally struck by a car. However, the police investigator assigned to the case found no evidence to support this claim. Bailey was taken in for questioning on Jan. 4.

Following the execution of a search warrant at a home on the 3800 block of Reno Street, an unidentified man was apprehended in connection to the case. On the same day, Bailey confessed to her involvement in her child’s death. Despite this confession, the child’s body has not yet been found, according to investigators.

Bailey is now facing charges of murder, endangering the welfare of a child, false reports, abuse of a corpse, and other related offenses. The unidentified man apprehended during the investigation has not yet been charged, but the police are continuing their investigation.

The case has sent shockwaves through the local community, as the search for the child’s body continues. The Philadelphia mother’s alleged actions have raised serious concerns and prompted a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind this tragic incident.
