Principal Killed in Perry High School Shooting to be Honored in Funeral Services This Week

PERRY, Iowa – The community of Perry, Iowa is preparing to say their final goodbyes to the principal who lost his life in the tragic shooting at Perry High School earlier this month. Dan Marburger succumbed to his injuries over the weekend, prompting arrangements for funeral services to be made.

According to the obituary, visitation for Marburger will be held on Friday at the Perry Elementary School Gym from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines.

The shooting, which occurred on January 4th, claimed the lives of both Marburger and a sixth grade student, Ahmir Jolliff. Additionally, six other individuals were injured before the 17-year-old student responsible for the shooting took his own life.
