Robbers Open Fire at Fatehabad Animal Fair, Killing One and Injuring Two

FATEHABAD, INDIA – One person was killed and two others were injured after a violent robbery at an animal fair in Sardarewala village on Tuesday. The deceased, identified as 32-year-old Dishan from Uttar Pradesh, succumbed to his injuries while the injured are receiving treatment at a civil hospital in Ratia.

The incident occurred when five armed robbers invaded a shop at the animal fair where a man was conducting transactions with animal traders. According to spokesman of the Fatehabad police, the robbers attempted to steal money from the traders, prompting two men to intervene. This led to a confrontation during which the robbers opened fire, injuring the two men. Dishan also tried to intervene and was injured, but tragically passed away, suspected to have suffered a heart attack.

Following the violent encounter, the crowd retaliated by assaulting and detaining two of the robbers, while the other three managed to escape. The police have launched an investigation into the incident and are pursuing the robbers who fled the scene.

The animal fair is a popular event in Sardarewala village, drawing traders and livestock enthusiasts from various parts of the region. However, the tragic events of Tuesday’s robbery have left a cloud of fear and uncertainty over the community.
