Robbery in Norristown Ends in Homicide and Burning Get-Away Car

NORRISTOWN, Pennsylvania – Authorities in Montgomery County are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred during an apparent robbery on Saturday. The victim, identified as 35-year-old William Carter, was attacked by three men as he was visiting someone in Norristown. The suspects are believed to have exited a gray Toyota Rav4 and approached Carter, with one of them fatally shooting him before fleeing the scene in the vehicle.

Surveillance footage showed one of the suspects pushing Carter against a wall before the fatal shooting took place. Following the incident, the suspects fled in the vehicle. Additionally, investigators found the same gray Toyota Rav4 on fire less than a mile away from the shooting scene early Sunday morning. The vehicle, which had been stolen from Cheltenham in December, is believed to be connected to the shooting.
