Salemtown Shooting Victim Remembered as Hero in Family’s Fundraising Effort

Nashville, Tennessee – A tragic incident unfolded during an Easter Sunday brunch at a popular Salemtown restaurant, resulting in the loss of life and injuries to several individuals. The Metro Nashville Police Department reported that a gunman opened fire at Roasted Salemtown, leading to the death of 33-year-old Allen Beachem and leaving multiple others wounded.

The family of Beachem, who was described as a dedicated husband, father of four, volunteer firefighter, and military veteran, is now seeking to support the four children he left behind. Keanna Lowe, Beachem’s second cousin, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, highlighting his role as a pillar of strength in his community and family.

According to Lowe, Beachem was in Nashville from Alabama to celebrate the birthdays of his wife and brother when the tragic incident occurred. In a moment of bravery, he attempted to shield his loved ones from harm, sustaining two gunshot wounds in the process. His family believes that he acted selflessly to protect his brother and possibly others from the shooter.

The suspected gunman, identified as 46-year-old Anton Rucker, has been apprehended following a manhunt that led authorities to a residence in Princeton, Kentucky. Rucker, with prior convictions for aggravated assault in Davidson County and charges of felony drug possession and unlawful gun possession in Rutherford County, had been out on bond for previous offenses.

As the investigation progresses, additional charges are anticipated against Rucker, including criminal homicide for Beachem’s death and injuries to other patrons at the restaurant. While grateful for Rucker’s capture, Beachem’s family expressed disappointment in the justice system’s handling of repeat offenders like Rucker.

In light of the tragic events, Beachem’s family is seeking financial assistance through a GoFundMe campaign to provide for his four children during this challenging time. They are hopeful that justice will be served as the legal proceedings unfold and the full extent of the tragedy is addressed.
